Why Graphic Novels?
Graphic novels offer the opportunity for kids to explore how information can be expressed visually and can be used as an effective tool to help kids understand different forms of communication and emotion. Graphic novels provide multilayered storytelling by marrying pictures and text by:
> Visually demonstrating nonverbal communication, such as body language, facial expressions, and spatial relationships
> Conveying tone, volume, and mood via text embellishments, such as size, font, and other visual effects
